Strikers

i was one of Tevez’s biggest critics in the early days but he seems to be improving and could form a really strong partnership with the lad Rooney.
Tevez is a poacher, he’ll put it away from six yards and that is what we need. I don’t think he’s close to being an RVN yet but I think he can really complement Rooney’s style.
We really need more strikers at the club though and Saha’s days are surely numbered.

i dont think he compliments rooney's style, i feel they are too similar imo. we need a different style of striker to parner these lads up top smiling smiley

They compliment each other excellently. Because they are similar doesn't mean they don't compliment each other. You just have to look at the goals against Boro in the 1st game, games against Newcastle where the one twos were excellent. Their movement and intelligence on the ball is excellent. We need a 3rd striker but when Rooney and Tevez are on their game they are undroppable.

Yeah we're pretty short on strikers at the moment. Donn't think Wellbeck is ready yet and Manucho we don't know how he is going to turn out.

I was one of those that said they were too similar but they do play well together. For me though Tevez is overweight he could do with shifting a few pounds to gain that exra yard of pace, apart from the lads class. Saha should be offloaded tbh so we get Manucho and there's room for one more. Eto'o is apparently unhappy with Barcelonas lack of success he'll do nicely.

I think we should sign Karim Benzema from Lyon. He is a great striker, and he would fit the mould that we need perfectly. The only way we will not go out and sign him is because we already have Tevez and Rooney, so Benzema would possibly be on the bench for a lot of the time, unless we play in a 4-3-3 formation.

If Tevez is overweight what does that make Rooney? (Sm6)

Well apparently Eto'o is on Spurs radar so i don't think we have a chance of getting him (Sm22)

(Sm6) If they get Eto'o they'd be willing to offload Berba (Sm100)

Rooney might be on the chubby side but he's still got genuine pace and carries it well lol Tevez is just short and pudgy, I think he's something like 5 6" but he's got a belly on him and loses a yard of pace as a result. Not as big as he was when he came back from the Copa America but he could still do with a weight watchers diet.

He's no Andy Reid though I mean have you seen the breasts on that lad??? eye popping smiley Stick a wig on him and he could easily be mistaken for woman carrying triplets (Sm6)

Bring back the red.

18 goals and 17 goals from 2 fat strikers, great record from the most defensive strikers we have ever seen.

But seriously if they lost a stone each they will be much better.

I belive the missed chances (and a lot of them) are down to there chubby clown feets.

Fat Rooney and Tevez and their chubby clown feet (Sm6) the're not fat, just muscular tongue sticking out smiley(Sm100)

Cant wait for a new striker next season ie Manucho proving his class or/and Fergie buying someone. I dunno, ready made star or anyone - from Estonia or some such, from obscurity to a successful OT career dirt cheap.

Everyone else needs to pull their weight as well. Last year I think every one scored a goal? Carrick, Evra, Vida, getting at least 5 each. Too much reliance on Ronaldo for the goals this season.

I don't think Evra got 5 last season. 1 or 2 just i think. Goal against Roma is the only one i can remember. What we're missing is a free scoring CM i.e. Scholes. Hopefully Anderson will find his shooting boots soon.

Chubby clown feet (Sm6)

We're missing at least ten goals from Carrick, Scholes and Anderson, I think it's two goals they have between them all season! That's just not good enough. When Anderson get's one I think he'll go a run, same with Scholesy.
