QP game

Thank goodness we did win and it was deserved if you exclude the usual panic in the last ten minutes. Excellent work from Carrick kept us alert up front and he was certainly MOM. We squandered lots of good chances which would have made it more relaxed, as indeed has been the case in may games in our recent good spell. Brownlie did score with a good header but I remain unconvinced that him and McGregor are better than Brownlie/Mcdonald with Edwards at LB . QP did have the same amount of possession especially in second half but they never really threatened until that combination of errors in the 85th minute. Yet again Ferguson saved the three points and the Ref managed to get the final whistle decision correct. He was something else and if you should only comment when you win,, about the officials I could go on and on and on, but I won't. Home record is keeping us safely mid table which I would accept at this stage

Yes it was a good three points almost snatched away but for a save from Rohan ,what does our manager say to our players at half time they are like a different team in second half .

Its as if they run out of steam in the second half !! Anyway not complaining..the feel good factor is back thanks to our new owners !! What a difference they have made around the place !

I almost felt better last week at Raith than I did after yesterday's win. It was a really frustrating day and could have been disastrous if we had thrown away the win in the last few minutes. A huge amount of possession in the first half, albeit of quite a slow tempo with most of it of the sideways and backwards variety. There's still a bit of reluctance to get the ball in the opposition box however when we did get there, passes were just going astray or over-hit. Opposition goalkeepers are rarely tested very much. And yes, Ferguson did make a save, I'll give him that one.

The pattern most weeks is quite similar, with the 2nd half collapse and is something the Manager can maybe comment on this Monday night's meeting with the fans. The next 3 games, all against teams above us can completely energise the season and put us back in contention. Bring on Ayr Utd and swing on the bar (well maybe not - as I recall, the metalwork wasn't too robust the last time!!).

It is often strange that a win can feel less cheery than a defeat but I will take that for many of the last bunch of games. Will miss the Q and A but look forward to postings. As for the bar I don't think they will let anyone on the park. I still have the wee blue stub from that day.

<> Me too, remember the clamour for the stubs at the end of the game...wondered at the time if it would ever get replayed given our situation, and so Nimmo pulled the plug on the Monday...ironic that it was McCall who was managing us at the time. <>
