<> We did play Ayr Utd. in the 1st league game of the 2010/2011 season at the stadium, but prior to that we played Ayr in a Challenge Cup game in the July (at Alloa) as the new artificial pitch was not ready in time (due to rain). <>

Would rather see Highland league teams join ,think they have proved their worth in cup over the past few weeks.

> The proposal is a disgrace, the authors and individuals behind this should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. There is a perfectly adequate system in Scottish football to encourage and develop youth, and that's the loan system - where countless players have developed and honed their skills going out from SPFL Premiership clubs to lower league sides.

The long and short of it is that this is just a plan to develop the 2 ugly sisters youth set ups - the cash/ticket incentive is nonsense and a sop to lower league clubs who vote this in - at their peril...

In other news, Carrick's pleased with his start at the club - [www.airdriefc.com]

A few bits and pieces to round up after yesterday's draw:-

> Stalemate at the Excelsior - [www.airdriefc.com]

> 50/50 say the stats - [www.bbc.co.uk]

> No goals, but here's the highlights - [www.airdriefc.com]

> Scott Stewart bags Man of the Match - [en-gb.facebook.com]

> Still 7th with key games coming up - improving Forfar away, 2nd place Raith away, struggling Queen's Park at home, top of the table Ayr away - [www.bbc.co.uk]

> So as mentioned in the other thread crowd figure higher on Saturday (850), that's over 100 more than the corresponding fixture at the start of the season.
