AIRDRIE FC NEWS UPDATE - 313 (Dec 17/Jan 18)
01 December, 2017 19:34
<> A new thread for the festive and new year period...

News, gossip, rumour on all things Airdrieonians FC:- club, players, management, fans, matches, media reports, articles and features - past and present!

We leave behind 2 months of high drama off the park, and a torrid time on it. How will the next 2 months shape up, will we have new owners running the club come the end of January with Jim Ballantyne driving off into the sunset after 15 years? And how wil the team perform as the club struggles to get to grips with the league? Will the Under 20s continue a high flying start to their season?

We shall see! <>

A good three points ,badly needed ,Forfar could have stole a draw at the end with our defending poor as usual, should have been out of sight but for our finishing, well taken goal from Furtado.notice manager said that he has a good first touch,I would say he could be a handful coming from wide and he does work hard for the team unlike some.but his first touch is like a crab with a musket.

Cold night ,on tv,low quality product so I suppose 450 was to be expected.was this our lowest crowd ? Seemed to be more in the dugout's than watching from stand.

<> Sunday's Raith Rovers game was the lowest league crowd for Airdrie at Excelsior Stadium. Prior to this the lowest league crowd for Airdrie at the stadium was 550 v Clydebank on 22nd April 2000. The lowest crowd in a competitive game involving Airdrie at the new ground is currently 400 v Alloa Athletic (a Challenge Cup game on 24th August 1999). <>
