Today v Dundee

For once the luck seemed to go with us. I'd say we have played better and lost, but to beat the league leaders 3-0 is nothing to be sneezed at. For almost the whole of the first half, Dundee were by far the better team, but they didn't trouble Robbo as they looked as punchless as us. Lots of passing, but when they got close to goal they hadn't a clue. However, I though it would only be a matter of time before they got a break, as our play consisted of the midfield passing the ball to the defence who then punted it forward to the Dundee defenders to allow them to start another attack. For once, the half time team talks seemed to work in our favour as I though we had more urgency from the kick off. The first goal had an element of luck,as the ball took a terrible bounce in front of Douglas and into the net. However, at least for once we didn't try the stupid I'll-pass-to-you-to-stop-it-for-him-to-hit-it-into-the-wall routine. A shot straight from teh dead ball, well placed into the corner. Without the bounce, Douglas may well have saved it, but as they say, if you don't buy a ticket you won't win the raffle and all credit to Scott.
The second and third goals owed absolutely nothing to luck and left me wondering why we can labout game after game to score foals then get two crackers when we really didn't need them. For the second, I think it was big Bobby who made a good run forward before slipping the ball to O'Carroll who had timed his run perfectly. His finish when he passed the ball past Douglas and into the net was one Owen Coyle would have been proud of. The third was a good cut back from the by line to be met by Scott Gemmell who thundered it into the net. This was the cue for many of the Dundee fans to leave. A deserved win, if only because we took what few chances we had and they didn't. Given the other results, the win means very little except to show Dundee are on a slippery slope. For a change, the few Airdrie fans who were there have something positive to talk about. At least until the next game!

been saying for a while they should just let sombody take a free kick from a dead ball rather than laying it off twice tapping it then hitting a shot at goal

and scott mclaughlin proved it right today , what a goal!

Two draws and a win in the last four - is that our best "run" this season?

All credit to the players and management team today. Pretty much a faultless display (well until Keegan came on(Sm123)).

O'Carrol looks a natural goalscorer, it's just a pity he has to do so much of his work outside the box.

It could have been 4 or 5. Good chance in the 1st half when their big No4 had a last ditch tackle, and then Baird should have scored right at the end.

Terrible home crowd, though - about 650 tops. Poor...

There's a bit of irony in there !

The man who got the job Kenny Black was offered gets the sack because of KB

What odds on today's result ?

it would be great to Sedaka get some decent service....he's had his back to goal 98% of the time he gets the ball.

The second half was the best football i have seen us play for a while now.We looked confident and i do agree that we could have had more goals also.

Well done lads i say,but i feel normal service will be resumed at Caley (Sm100)

I've really enjoyed the last two Saturdays. Long may it continue! We played well today and if we'd played like that every week of the season we'd comfortably be mid table.

We played well - but Dundee league leaders??

So Jocky Scott got the sack for his poor record in recent games whilst still being top of the league.

Would KB have lasted 5 minutes at Dundee?

He's lasted 3 seasons with us!!

( But of course he must be a hero after yesterday's result)

A good effort. Difference between this and the home games agains the Pars and Ayr was that we took every chance that came our way agianst Dundee and in teh other games squandered what we created. However our midfield still struggles in most games to get a grip
