[www.youtube.com] Was it or was it not a penalty? How anyone can give a game winning decision to a player from a few yards away having a ball blasted at his arm without the chance to move it I've no idea. We will get to a state soon where strikers aren't trained to score but to seek out defenders arms and simply blast the ball at them from a few yards out.

Agreed. It was almost impossible for him to avoid.
One of the funnier sights in the ‘modern’ game is to watch defenders in the box running around with both arms behind their backs for safety.

Yes. I suppose it's so that they can say they didn't handle the ball intentionally should it strike their arm but they're supposed to have their arms in a natural position. Who the hell runs around with their arms behind their back?

It was never a penalty.
The handball rule is now like the offside rule, nonsense and open to interpretation. With the offside rule they talk about a player not being active, even though he is standing on the 6 yard line - wtf????

Apparently, we await clraification ahead of next season as to exactly what hand ball is!!

If, for example, a similar decision was given against us in the last seconds v Man Utd this coming saturday - or any other result changing situation - I'd be bloody fuming .... but did have a laff seeing the crest fallen PSG players as the match dramatically fell from their clutches!

Gary linekers view was the most absurd thing I've heard in a long time when he stated " If the ball hits the hand it should be a penalty regardless of intent." You can imagine the scene with a player through on goal against a decent keeper, elects to turn round blast the shot against a defenders hand from 1 yard away and old jug ears advocates a penalty.

The law used to be common sense, intentional and non intentional handball.. as usual its things changing for the worst.
