Six minutes added time at the end of the first half. Sounds pretty poor from Wolves up to now

High hanging cross from Jonny, goalie drops it and the Doc converts with his head. Two goals to Wolves - two goals to Doc!!

Half time.
Wolves have lacked ideas much of the time, with poor movement up front. Some good runs by Traore but no end result. Seems like Nuno will kick 4rse during the break

Wolves 2 Shrewsbury 2

At last - Cavaleiro goes on a run and rolls the ball under the oncoming keeper

Wolves 3 Shrews 2

Moutinho comes on to replace Costa - which is no surprise as I don't think his name has been mentioned this half!

Attendance 28,844 tonight, mostly from Chicago it seems!!

Traore replaced by Raul Jimenez

Niall Ennis makes his first team debut (having been on loan at Shrewsbury in the past) to replace Cavaleiro

Three minutes added time. Wolves still being typically careless, and give a corner away after the first of those minutes.

Final whistle is blown. Wolves can - it seems - count themselves lucky to get through to the next round.
Two goals from the Doc and one from Cavaleiro have seen us through a tough challenge, but through we are and now we go to Bristol City for the fifth round tie.

Now the squad will head for warm weather training tomorrow - lucky them!!

Final score: Wolves 3 Shrewsbury 2

I get home 5 minutes ago to see we're still in it after a bit of a scare to say the least! This after a poor trip home from London.

A win's a win and we're in the hat, 5th round beckons, though I suspect we'll need to buck our ideas up versus Bristol City. I'm happy however. Many cup winners down the years have had their share of early round scarpes etc. I look forward to seeing the highlights in due course, whenever, wherever they appear!

Great to see the size of the crowd. Regardless of tonight's performance, there's certainly a buzz about the club at the moment.

Up the Wolves!!

Pleased about that Chicago. Molineux continues to hold its magic doesn’t, never dwindling.

Great they won for you too!

I watched it from the Billy Wright Stand and I wasn't sorry to hear the final whistle.
The squad may be strong enough to cope with two or three changes due to injury, suspension or whatever but six changes is too much.
I don't know how much emphasis Nuno is placing on the Cup but if we do the same against Bristol we will be out because they are a helluva lot stronger than Shrewsbury.
If I had any doubts about Rui being no.1 before, I haven't now.
MGW didn't play too bad but needs to play it more simply at times.
Traore had one of his better games but I would like to see him do it against Premier opposition and as he can obviously only play right wing, I don't see how he can get in when we go back to playing two in attack. He still needs to do a lot more to persuade me he is worth £18m but purely on tonight he didn't do too badly.
Costa sadly failed to impress again and is bang out of form. If a change needs to be made in attack in future it has to be Cavaleiro to come in.
Has as been said though, the main thing is we are through but it has to be a stronger side against Bristol.

Thanks everyone. The magic is still at The Molineux; I really hope we are not tempted to move the ground out of town.
Meantime we have a cup run. If we make it to wembly I have promised the kids (daughter in stafford, plus my two from USA) that I will take them, whatever the touts are charging

Really impressed with Traore tonight MOTM our main outlet on the right wing not only his crosses not his fault if our forwards cannot get into the box quick enough but he kept winning the ball back many times the last time he did it lead to our last goal, Can we try him on the right wing with Jora and Jiminez up front probably not Nunos style of play As for Costa it seems obvious he does not want to be here think he wants to go home for God sake let him we play with ten men with him in the side.
