I've read a lot of sh.1t on here and other places about ten men not being that big a deal and it "being harder to play against ten. Yet another eg tonight, arguably the best team the league has ever seen Man city cant beat league one wigan when down to ten men... case closed.

Anyone who believes that being reduced to ten men does not put the ten man team at a disadvantage is either joking or deluded. Someone has the stats but I bet that more then eighty percent of the time the team will go on to lose, especially if there is time on the clock.
Man City is an interesting case. When you look at all those yellows Wigan picked up it is a miracle they all stayed on. Also when we we were last in the Prem , we played Man C and were a goal down when they had someone sent off. It gave Wolves heart to chase the game, with disastrous results. But that does not happen often.

I agree Angry, its nonsense.
Then again, football is surrounded by nonsense these days.
Sky sports news were asking the question last night "is there a chink in Man citys armour!
no team in the history of the world have ever won every football match over the course of a season... what a load of sh1te!
Also, that is what the FA cup is all about , shocks! Without shocks football would be the most boring sport in the world.

The actual statistics are if a team goes down to ten men in the first hour of a game whilst the scores are level, it fails to win 89.4% of the time in data collected between 2000 and 2017 encompassing all matches played in the top 5 European leagues ( Spain, Italy, England, Germany, France). It's amazing how many gullible people are fooled into thinking because some dopey manager trots out rhetoric of it being harder to play against ten to excuse his own shortcomings that it's true when it's complete rubbish. There were people wondering why we lost to Sheff utd away earlier in the season unable to grasp why after an early red card using formation/tactics as an excuse instead of actual statistically proven evidence what a game changer the red card is.

Thanks Angry. What is the old joke 'Don't let facts get in the way of a good story'?

In my adopted land people, many people, are this week saying that there is NO CO-RELATION between the number of guns around and the number of people who get shot. Strange.
