Well don't despair gentlemen, put your finest clobber on for the big match this weekend. Who is it I hear you cry , chelsea, united? I'm afraid not, Rotheram United are on their way meaning business where with alot of screaming and praying we may scrape a win to keep us from the third division. (Sm144) (Sm64) I'm afraid the only "new dawn " isn't a glorious picturesque sunrise but a putrid STD riddled old scrubber with a tramp stamp tattoo of her name on her lower back peddling her wares

Quality not quantity pretty much sums our season up angry...

I know you're not a fan of Lambert, but I don't believe we would be where we are if he had a say pre-season on the transfers and given the whole season.

Every games a cup final now for...at least we've got something to be hoping for😳

I had an overall underwhelming feeling upon Fosuns arrival, actions speak louder so to speak, and we still await firm, positive and strategic decisions. Ah well, at least it's not the 2Ms.

Despite the parlous state we find ourselves in, I'm not sure getting rid of Lambert is the answer, despite his tinkering - there evidence short-termism manager chopping is not the solution. Additionally and linked to this, I'd prefer not to see us becoming a hire-um fire-um football club.

Nevertheless, as said, this is on a knife edge for us. On the positive and in general I see us as possessing enough to stay up (an opinion based on what I've seen), sadly - and what worries me - is the complete lack of goals and attacking creativity. There's a great post on another site about past seasons of goals scored by CFs and this season comes up about the worst in a generation. I'll post it if I find it. This really exemplified by the matches versus Ipswich and Reading where we played OK and were on top, so instead of 6 or 4 points, got just 1. All about creating and scoring.

Found it - courtesy of Wolvesforever_1979 on the Wolf - interesting reading. Centre forward goals by season. It is somewhat subjective e.g. Leaves out players like Sako etc but gives a good idea. Statistics can be misinterpreted, however in the context of our season, it's embarrassing our CF total this season. I'd imagine you'd have to go back to the 1984-86 period to see anything so dire.

Interesting post Ivybridge thanks. Was always a fan of SEB, never should have let him walk away.

Looking at Rotherham's away record this season
Wins 0 Draws1 Losses 17.
What's the betting they are two up in half an hour.

As regards Lambert his constant changes give the impression he really hasn't got a clue who to play and why. Also so far as Fosun go, once they were talking about spending £25 million on one player a big red flag was raised for me. Many thought it was a great thing and showed real ambition, for me It showed a lack of any sort of sensible or sustainable strategy.

Pure class, angry!

Anyway, my view is that Fosun should've upgraded the coaching staff and appointed somebody football-savvy to run the whole club on their behalf.....somebody like Roy Hodgson for example? I don't know, maybe they thought Thelwell was "capable"?
