I think we've missed our opportunity

Good win today at a really difficult ground for us over the years.

However, I think this is a temporary boost. Looking at the remaining fixtures makes grimmer reading than I thought earlier in the season, particularly given the form of some of the teams we have to face.

Aston Villa (A) - LOSE
West Ham (A) - LOSE
Everton (H) - LOSE
Arsenal (A) - LOSE
Stoke City (H) - WIN
Fulham (A) - LOSE
Blackburn (H) - Draw
Portsmouth (A) - LOSE
Sunderland (H) - WIN

I think this is realistic prediction and I think this means relegation.

At the moment I utterly despise Moxey and Morgan for allowing this to happen

Id blame Mick mate, hes the one playing 4-5-1 and the one who wasted the summer budget on players like Milijas, The Hoff, Halford and Surman. He new how injury prone Jarvis and Kites are but never botherd to bring in a squad winger because he's happy playing Foley or Keogh out of position.

Disagree not only with the predictions, but even if you're right, I firmly believe that 32 points will see us safe.

The rest around us have tough run ins - but I think that this will not only be the lowest points tally survival in the history of the Prem, but that goal difference will also play its part.

seanb Sees the Scores! (as well as anyone else at least)

Villa are tired and about to collapse draw
West Ham are genuinely bad draw
Everton going well but a hicough as nothing much to play for win
Arsenal - we'll but brave but oh well
Stoke have nothing to play for win
Fulham will manage to beat Juve, continue European run and be so tired that draw
Blackburn nothing for them to play for and revenge so win
Portsmouth strange game draw
Sunderland - Steve Bruce's troops are poor and we want revenge so win.

Our best run all season. Does that put us in Europe? Time for another beer. And I fancy a smoke. Lucky ole Mick!

I Disagree totally oldngold...how can you say its a difficult run in... apart from Arsenal away we are capable of getting a result in any of the other games.
As premiership fixtures go we actually have quite a good run in.
I know there are no easy games in the premiership but some are easier than others - we dont meet Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Man city or spurs again.
I felt whoever lost between Wolves and Burnley today would go down and Hull are in freefall.
I think its time to be optimistic now.

I agree with Hales' predictions though but I think well draw with either B'burn or Everton, don't think well win both, ive got us down for 11 points from our remaining games.

Penn I think Everton could go draw or win they are a funny team but Blackburn are poor on the road

....hows that then oldngold? According to MOTD we had won 9 of our last 12 trips to Turf Moor .... and that could now be 10 of our last 13. I've now been there 4 times and seen us win 3. I dont think we have a better record than that anywhere else!

As i said on another thread. Burnley have to play Liverppol, Brum and Spurs in their final three games. Hull have liverpool on the final day. If we stay ahead of those two going into the final three then i believe we will be ok.

10 more points should do it, probably even as low as 8. If we do get 10 more points and as long as our goal difference remains superior that would require Burnley to get 14 points from 8 games or Hull the same from 9 games, basically Europa League form.

As long as we reach the Sunderland game 3 points clear of Hull & Burnley, we should be safe due to goal difference anyway. Making it out like we won't pick up many points ignores the prospect of Burnley and Hull also not picking up many points. Yesterday was our worst performance for 6 weeks and we still won. That proves how poor Burnley are.

Agreed AT.

BUT Where are the 8 points coming from then mate?

Moxey and Morgan Oldngold.....?
Yeah, I mean all they've done is keep the club in the black, invested £30m in 3 years and re-structured the club entirely to be running 20 times more professional than ever! The bar-stewards, how very dare they!!!!

Oldngold, not saying that you're negative or anything but I like your "guaranteed" predictions.

Can you do me a personal favour please and let me have the next winning balls for the lottery as I could do with some money!

Only joking, let's see how things pan out and if you are correct then you can say "I told you so!"

Well done lads for a good win at the weekend!

SHOULD HAVE GONE TO.......

Assuming that both Burnley and Hull average a point a game between now and the end of the season (something neither are currently doing), then 7 points will be enough for survival on points, without taking into account our goal difference
